PIP review, help was created by CLINTIAN
Dear Gordon and colleagues, my husbands main illnesses are O.C.D. & Dysthmia [recently added by doctor alongside already diagnosed depression], I have received my husbands PIP 1043 award review, just to say that his initial transfer from DLA-PIP was incredibly wrong after a face to face so my husband requested a mandatory reconsideration which awarded 11 points for care,
I would like to ask a few questions:-
Q1. Would they use the mandatory reconsideration from a year ago, face to face [full or errors] or the initial PIP claim?
Q2. Some points are correct but some are lower than we think, should we challenge the lower points and say that we believe are wrong and should be higher [please see supporting evidence etc.]
Q3, one descriptor still stayed the same [zero points for eating and drinking] the mandatory reconsideration correctly altered all but this one stating that and Quote: - “You said you have difficulty eating and drinking. At assessment you were noted to be of average build and did not appear malnourished. You are not having any specialist dietry input and told the assessor you eat everyday. Therefore it is likely you can manage this activity unaided”.
Now we said that due to his depression for the majority of time he needs prompting to eat and drink in the initial PIP form, at the face to face and in the mandatory reconsideration, Question is how on earth can points be awarded if they are saying that because he looks healthy therefore zero points are awarded !!! he also now struggles to chew his food because of recently diagnosed gum disease, I guess adding this alongside evidence would help.
We have thoroughly written roughly four pages for each scoring descriptors plus the non scoring eating and drinking, GOING OUT scored four for prompting but ignored the continued prompting while outside [April 2017].
Thank you so much and I wish you all the best.

1. They should take into account the MR result when looking at the previous assessment but it is clear from member feedback that this does not always happen, so I would include information about the revised Decision.

2. No, learn from the lower marking and revise your answers to try and deal with it. The previous report, good or bad will not have the influence of the new one.

3. I don't have a good answer for this, prompting scores higher for this activity than most of the others so the test is that more stricter, you really need to show that even when hungry and I do mean really hungry your husband would still not eat.
