Pre-Board Check for Universal Credit was created by skyline8
I sent my UC questionnaire completed back to the DWP for the work capability assessment in April 2019 & I am still waiting for an update. I phoned the UC helpline last week and I was told that a Pre-Board check was in process to decide if a face to face assessment was needed or not to make a decision.
Please does anyone what this involves and the duration of the whole process?
Thanks

The pre-board checks done by the DWP and Maximus only take a couple of hours at most, what you are waiting for is your file to get to the top of the pile so that someone actually looks at it, unfortunately, this can take some time.

Is this a new claim or a reassessment, the DWP are prioritising the former and I would expect a decision on an assessment to only be a couple of months, if the latter then I'm afraid it could be a lot longer.

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the information. I made a new claim for UC in November 2018 and handing in fit notes from the GP every 2'months due to having Fibromyalgia which is getting worse. The UC50 form was sent to me in March 2019 to complete and I returned it back in April 2019. This is for DWP to decide if I am attending the WCA f2f or the decision maker will be able to make a decision without seeing me.
I will wait until my case is looked at as I now know it will take a bit longer for a decision. I will keep you updated.
Many thanks in Advance
Jennifer
