10 WEEKS AND WORRIED was created by rich68
Hi all. I had confirmation by text from the DWP on the 3rd of July 2019 stating they had received my claim pack for PIP from DLA. All my GP and Consultants stated that only a paper based review would be appropriate due to suicide and self harming, I haven't heard a peep from them now for 10 weeks , Im in a panic

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

There is some variation in wait times for an assessment across the country, even if you are hoping for a Paper Based Review your file needs to get to the top of the pile.

The assessor may be contacting your medical contacts and this can also delay the process and of course the DWP are not quick to send letters.

If you want to allay your panic then you do have the option of contacting the Assessment Provider for your postcode for an update or getting someone to do it on your behalf if you cannot manage the call, you will need to be present for the security questions and to authorise the DWP to speak to the person.

You can find your AP from the following if you don't know who they are

I support a friend with severe anxiety & depression in a similar situation. His doctor prepared a letter strongly recommending a paper-based review and outlining his difficulties with everyday life.

This letter was sufficient for CHDA to do a PBR & recommend to DWP he remain in ESA Support Group, now confirmed.

I sent off the PIP form with supporting evidence by Special Delivery on 4 July 2019 and as at today, there has been no response. We are hoping hard that 'no news is good news'.
