Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
PIP2 DWP New best friend & alternative format!! was created by SUE C C
I contacted the ‘Alternative Format Team’ on 6 Sep 19 and received a “ We are very busy” etc.
I received a text message from the DWP on 11 Sep 19 confirming receipt of my PIP-1 and I’ve received a second text today saying that my PIP-2 form has been sent. I am away from home now for 2 weeks, but, unsurprisingly, I am preoccupied with my DLA to PIP transition.
Has anyone out there had any experience with an ‘Alternative Format’ PIP-2? I struggle with writing due to my malfunctioning right hand/arm and managed my very recent ESA application by using the digital, online form. I am even travelling with the excellent B&W PIP Guide so I can at least read that and prepare myself for when I get back home. I believe the PIP-2 is just a mere 40 pages long, or am I wrong?

Sue
You do have the option of typing your answers on separate pages and attaching them to the PIP2 form.

Thanks Gordon. I had thought I would do that and indicate on the PIP-2 to see attached. I am just surprised the alternative format is not an option from the start. I am sure I am not alone in finding handwritten form filling a challenge, especially when you’re telling them your life story.

Hello. Update on Alternative Format, have just received an email this evening from The Alternative Format Team to ask for national insurance number, full name etc which will authorise the DWP to correspond with me by email. They state that “ We can offer this as a reasonable adjustment because of your health condition or disability.
They have also said “ We will ensure that the timer is extended to allow enough time for the form to be returned” Which is just as well because on sending my details back this evening, I once again received their “ We are experiencing a high volume of requests at the moment”. My original enquiry was sent on 6 September 2019.
Has anyone actually completed an electronic PIP2? I’m just curious as to how you got on with it. I’ll be alright unless my computer says no, then I’ll be in trouble as I am a confirmed technophobe x

Hi Sue C C
I have not completed an electronic PIP2, but I am sure someone within the forum may have completed one, let us know how you get on and any difficulties you may have come across.
