PIP question was created by jaki
I am not under a consultant any anymore for my MS. I have had it 27 years.I dont like him and always came away feeling bad as he never listened to me ,so i stopped going to see him.I have just had a really bad home assessment for PIP and she went out of her way to trip me up.I was ill after it.So now im overthinking things but im sure i will get NO points for both. But would i have any chance appealing it with no consultant on my side.I feel so upset and angry over this i just feel like whats the point.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Was this a new claim or a reassessment of an existing award?
First of all, what appears to be a bad assessment does not always indicate a negative decision, we have seen it result in the highest award and conversely, what was described as the best possible assessment end in no award at all.
Whilst medical evidence can be an assistance to an award it is not always the case, I know of someone with Enhanced for both with nothing more than a diagnosis letter.
MS is a progressive condition so you may already have evidence that puts a stake in the ground as to how you are limited by it, you can request a copy of your medical records by contacting your GP's surgery.

You can request a copy of the assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim, a Decision should be 4-6 weeks although some members have reported longer waits.
