Evidence to submit to Tribunal PIP was created by interesteduser
I've read the appeal doc on here and used it to do the appeal. It's been suggested I should write a submission to explain how my sisters brain tumours and breast cancers and e chemotherapy and radiotherapy impact her as I am the one that does the most to help her. This can be submitted as evidence asap. I also need to arrange for her GP to write something to support her too. He will write something as he spotted the tumour and has seen the impacts but I need advice on what type of examples I should ask him to write.
With regards to my statement, don't know where to being. I'm passionate that she meets the criteria and should be entitled to PIP but don't know how to get that across. Has. Anyone done anything like this and could give me some tips on how to set it out and what to put in it? Many thanks.

Hi interesteduser

If you are the person who helps your sister the most a statement from you is definitely to be recommended. Try not to talk in a general way. Where do you see her struggling against the issues laid down in the PiP criteria?

As far as your GP is concerned you can look at the GP notes document that we have available and see if this is appropriate. The most important things though are for your GP to confirm diagnosis, prognosis (if appropriate), medications and treatments and what impact he has observed on her.

You may have already done this, but the most important thing is to really understand why your sister failed to be awarded PIP. It's easy just to be angry with the system and that is often justified, but sometimes people fail because they haven't explained clearly enough what the difficulties are that they have against the criteria. So what you want to ensure is that you have refuted with any evidence you can any misapprehensions or mistakes that the assessor and decision-maker made.

Also, check to see if there is any case law that has involved PIP tribunals where claimants have the same condition as your sister. It's always helpful if there is a ruling that has been applied that you can quote. (Don't worry if there isn't any) - just search "PIP caselaw breast cancer" and so on.

Yah so you. Where is the GP notes document? I haven't found it on here now the guides before. Thanks for the suggestion. I did refute each part of their decision breakingdown the report as I followed the appeal document on here to the letter so I guess its picking out from that. I'd like to find that GP notes document though.Thanks.

I don't wish to be negative but I afraid those GP Notes don't really help. I appreciate the work put in on them however I know from experience with the GP that he doesn't have time to discuss a document in detail nor discuss many examples. Our GP has a policy that you can only raise one thing at an appointment. Ridiculous I know but we have so many battles to go to that you do have to decide what to fight on with. Does anyone have anything that's worked well for them in getting the GP to be able to write meaningful evidence for them to send to the tribunal. Thanks.
