ESA health assessment while moving was created by Audi
I'm in a bit of a stressful situation here (baby due end of the month, in the process of moving house (complete with electricians, plumbers and builders) and facing an ESA health assessment) how my brain hasn't exploded yet I don't know..
Long story short I had an appointment for the health assessment back in June, they hadn't provided the recording devices requested so it was cancelled and to be rebooked. I've Just had the new date through for 3 days time on the 3rd of october, I'm yet to check if they have booked the recording device but I'm now curious as to what happens..
On the 19th October I'm due to move in with my partner, we are both moving to a totally new area, the move is for the benefit of her kid and our soon to be due baby, it's also a move putting us close to family. She currently receives universal credit and is on maternity leave, the new area we are moving to is a UC area.
Will my move trigger my current assessment to be stopped and trigger a new assesment in the new area? (as I doubt I'll have an answer before the 19th)
With the new area being UC and my partner already being on UC will my move trigger me being moved onto UC and another reassessment?
If I have to go to appeal over the decision but I've moved area's can I even appeal?
Thanks in advance
Brett

What type of ESA are you receiving?
If it is only Contribution Based then your moving in together will have no effect on your payments but if you receive any Income Related ESA then you will need to decide whether you continue with the ESA(IR) or the UC as there can be only one IR claim in a couple.
If you are only receiving ESA(IR) and you decide to go with the UC claim in preference then you would have to be reassessed under UC unless you are lucky enough for a Decision to be made on your ESA claim before you move in which case it can be transferred across to UC, although it is a manual process and can take some time.
If you receive an adverse ESA Decision then it would be appealable whether you move or not.
