Hi the DWP still haven’t received my esa form that I sent by next day recorded delivery the deadline for sending it back is the 28th is there any chance I can ring up the swap ask for a extension because I’m concerned that I will be moved onto universal credit and will have to make a new claim if it’s not received by the 28th.
I am afraid the ESA legislation does not allow any extension to the standard four weeks to complete and return the form. If you sent it by recorded delivery, then you must be able to track where it is. I have heard (though no official word) - that there have been problems with the Post Office delivering items to the DWP. You can only keep checking and inform the DWP of the date you posted it and say that you have a record. You can always send them a copy of your post office proof.
