The DWP is often reluctant to make a decision (non binding) before they have to make a Decision (binding) but with some persistence, you may be able to get them to do so.
Contact the DWP office dealing with your claim in writing, I would recommend you using a Tracked post so you have proof of delivery,.
The 26 week disregard only applies where the claimant has sold their home and there is a delay in purchasing a new home.
