Will being on ESA come back on an Enhanced DBS Che was created by Benefit Help needed
Hi,
I'm currently on Support Group ESA with lower rate PIP. I was awarded it based on the excemptions 29/35 and I've been on it for a few years now. I used to be a bit aggressive and sometimes violent and this meant that I couldn't work. Although I've never been arrested for violence or anything..
I'm finally starting to feel better though. I was wanting to start getting into work and volunteering this year. My question is: Will this information be shown up on an Enhanced DBS & Barring check? Will I be allowed to work with children & vulnerable adults now that I'm well enough to work? Have I been added to any barring lists because of being on ESA/PIP?
I have no arrests or convictions or anything like that for violence or aggression. And all of that is in my past.
Does anyone know? My goal is to become a mental health worker or drugs counsellor. I know plenty of ex drug addicts who were in prison and are working with vulnerable peopel all the time?
Thanks

Hi Benefit Help needed
Your query is outside the remit of the forum.
As far as I am aware being on PIP has nothing to do with enhanced DBS, I have to be checked every two years. If you have been cautioned, then this may come up on a check.
