Yes your client can contact the DWP either by phone or in writing to let them know that you are acting as their representative. When ever I phone on behalf of a client the DWP will check their records to see if they have permission to talk to me on hehalf of the claimant. They usually ask you a number of key questions due to Data protection such as clients name and address, DOB, NINO
