I am in the migration process from Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit to Universal Credit. I should also receive a 'transitional protection' payment.
I am thinking of moving home soon, and into social housing in a different local authority area. I take it that I won't need to make a new claim for Universal Credit if I move? I am fairly certain that I can just report a change of address, and continue my existing claim, but I just wanted to check.
If you are already in receipt of UC then you only need to inform of a change of address, if you are still in receipt of legacy benefits then seek advice before you move.
Once you have moved you will have to reclaim CTRS from your new local authority.
