WCA BACKLOG FOR ASSESSMENTS was created by axab43
I have not had a WCA for UC for some years, since about 2020, pre pandemic., so I should be due one at some point. I retire in four years this years.

Can anyone tell me if there is a backlog for UC WCA assessments and how long it is? I am in the LCWRA for UC, not sure if this has any bearing in anything. Thanks

Hi axab43

There have been very few LCWRA reviews since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 so you can easily see there is a 5 year backlog.
To tackle this there would have to be a major recruitment exercise of HAAS assessors by the companies Ingeus, Capita, Serco and Maximus. So keep an eye on the news section of BenefitsandWork.

Thank you. I was just hoping I might escape assessment before I get state pension, or at least very close to when I pension, when it will all feel much better anyway. As you said, there probably is a 5 year backlog of LCWRAs. I didn't think of that.

My son had a migration notice from ESA to UC and I wasn’t satisfied that he was in the right category as he is in the LCW and yet not worked for 23years and now attends a Daycare centre. We have just received the result 6 weeks after WCA forms sent.
