RE: Having over 6k in your bank was created by Kuju2
Hi all,
I am potentially going to be receiving an inheritance which will be over the 6k allowed before deducions take place on UC, I am in the LCWRA group.
My question is, do I have to let UC know exactly how much is in my bank every month so that they don't overpay or underpay me (I understand that any money left over in my current account will be regarded as capital) and if so, when in the month do I let them know. Do I let them know when I get paid, or do I do it on the last date of my assessment period?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Kuju2
Yes it is the balance on the last day of your Assessment Period that is used for UC calculations.

Hi Colin
The dates of your UC Assessment Period will be in your monthly statement that is posted to your UC account 4 days before you get paid.
