Hi, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone especially to David and Gary for all your advice. I had been trying to help my friend who’s husband had recently passed away. Universal Credit had told her she was entitled to nothing and she would have left it at that only for your advice so thank you. She has now been awarded £214.36 which is £107.18 every two weeks. She is already getting Contribution Based ESA. Am I right in assuming that it should be for the same amount and her UC is just a top up income related? Does she need to contact ESA? Thank you again. Jessica
The Contributions based ESA has changed name and is now called New Style ESA. But the amounts are the same and as you say the top up is from UC rather than from Income Based ESA.
