PIP Review - Typed and Printed or Handwritten? was created by MissEl
Hello, I've always hand written additional pages for PIP assessments in the past. But my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be and so my writing isn't as clear to read. I'm thinking about asking a friend for help to type it up and print out. Is that ok? Is it standard for people to send printed additional pages or not? How does everyone else do it? Handwritten or Printed and does it make any difference ? Thanks

Hi MissE!
The DWP is always grateful when claimants send in typed notes as they scan far more easily onto the system than handwriting. However, they will accept typed or handwritten additional pages. It's entirely up to you.

I asked similar a short while ago as my handwriting gets illegible after a while. I ended up editing a copy of my original Pip claim “draft” notes which I had originally typed out and stored on my desktop. I found it far less exhausting this time around as I discovered “speech to text” (what a God send that has turned out to be) so adding/editing and explaining things more fully proved easier. The bonus is that you will have an archived typed copy which will, hopefully, help with any future assessment.
Apart from, iirc, the walking distance question I submitted typed attachments for ALL of the questions - numbered every sheet and simply referred to that attachment page number when answering a question.
Best wishes and good luck.
