New style Esa ,Uc ,permitted work was created by Pops
Dear all ,
Can someone explain a few things regarding new style Esa
I am on the support group and if I was to work 14 hours and earn £280.00 per week as a self employed staff , I will lose my Esa payments ?
The job I want to do only hires as self employed, after expenses and pension contributions my salary is under the £197.50 permitted earnings will I still lose the Esa ?
After 9 years I want to try working but I am scared I will lose Esa and if I can’t do this job after few months of trying I will have to go through the whole process . So I was thinking if I pay in to a pension to keep my net salary £790 a month that I could try this work out ?
If I claim Uc will the new style Esa support group payments be deducted off UC as earned income . Is this standard or only if I do permitted work they deduct it .

Hi Pops
Permitted work was for claimants on legacy ESA, there is no permitted work for claimants claiming NS ESA, we would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Specialist, where they can take all your circumstances into account; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies in your area advicelocal.uk
