Implications of applying for PIP as UC LCW claimant and having PIP refused was created by Invisible
Hi,
I moved to UC with managed migration from IR ESA with LCW. I might want to apply for PIP. If I'd be refused for PIP, would that influence my LCW in any ways? For example, would that make the UC team think that I am capable of work? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hi Invisible
Many claimants get refused for PIP, they then go on to applying for MR and then appeal if MR is unsuccessful.
Quite often claimants win on appeal, therefore in answer to your question, it should not influence your LCW but we are talking about the DWP 😱

Thanks Gary. After all, I think I'll leave it alone for now....better the devil you know, than the one you don't, as they say. I thought I might apply for PIP more to 'protect' my LCW than for the additional money....I don't waste money around and even with the current UC payment I can pay for all the basic needs, and more....what more could I want.
Your last sentence made me reconsider. For the last 3.5 years my mantra has been: 'don't you dare change a thing. Keep doing exactly what you have done so far.'. And it worked!
I'll leave it alone for now. Thank you for your opinion.

Hi Invisible
You will at some stage be reviewed for both PIP and LCW, you may want to start collecting medical evidence so that you are not in a panic when the review forms arrive, remember to treat the review forms as though it is a new claim.
