I have just recieved a letter from DWP stating there is a change to my benefits from 10.4.26. Apparently I am to no longer recieve IR ESA and will be paid "contribution-based" ESA instead. This amount is £15.85 less per week than I was recieving on IR ESA. I am in the support group and have migrated to UC early last year. There is no difference to the amount of UC I will recieve.
Could anyone advise if this loss of income is correct, I know no one can confirm the amounts but just the prinicple of losing a quite significant amount of ESA monthly, when my circumstances have not changed but just a move to another type of ESA
I would be grateful for any insight as I feel really low and confused.
If your ESA reduces by £15.85 then your UC should be increased by that amount as ESA is deducted £ for £ from UC. You should get an April UC statement posted to your account 4 days prior to UC payday.
