I know this question has been asked many times and i have asked too.
I general I believe the systems are so siloed and fragmented operationally that this is not routinely possible. Various agents have also reiterated note to assume info sharing between depts.
However, in a recent UC backdating MRN>Appeal process i was surprised to find that the DM maker stated :
'I have considered all additional evidence provided ......to both Universal credit and PIP departments'
It does happen. Perhaps there's a threshold to trigger the requirement for info sharing , before decision is made.
We don't have knowledge of the inner workings of the DWP, Clearly, someone in one department of the DWP is able to ring up someone in another department, so sometimes information will be shared.
