We keep getting overpaid since moving to UC. We’ve given them all of the info, but still they keep paying us too much! The first time it happened we paid them in full, but now they say not to do anything as they’ll just take it off our UC. It was to do with an ESA & Carers payment, but they know how much we get as I always put any changes on the journal, & ring them up. Any idea what I can do about this?

They know that with UC official error overpayments they can ask for the money back at any time in the future unlike the old ESA when you could keep it.

I don’t mind them taking it back, I’d even give it back immediately as it’s not mine to keep. It’s the fact that it continues to happen, I even rang them & told them & they said it was sorted out, & I’ve put it on the journal. Plus I’ve no idea why they’re even taking any ESA from us. As for what they take off us in carers the figures just don’t add up.

I'm sorry this is still happening to you. Impossible to advise you how to resolve this because you are already doing everything you can.
Have you thought of putting in an official complaint? it might stop it from happening. (I understand that might be added stress, which you don't need.)
