UC/LWCRA - Permitted work Allw U25 was created by Sum
Since leaving college clmt has been hoping and trying to get an apprenticeship in tech. unsuccessful so far
So relative put him fwd for a piece of work to test his capabilities and the client was happy to pay for the work. Its not regular and very unpredictable. Gave him a boost in confidence tbh especially after so may dead-ends.
But ofc since becoming aware of his progress i want to make sure DWP are aware of any other adhoc income. And we are square with payments/deductions etc
He has LWCRA - all work is IT and he doesn't leave the house/ his room most days. sleeps when not on his devices.
what are the rules and thresholds that apply in this circ? will his LCWRA be impacted ?

Hi Sum
Can you please give us some more details such as who is the employer....is there an official contract of employment or is it agreed to be on a self-employed basis ....is there a training element in the relationship?

Hi David,
There is no contract, it is on a written basis i.e they text him what to do over a messaging service (email and whatsapp) and he just completes the task, sends the invoice and gets paid.

Hi Sum
If there are invoices involved then its not PAYE and it would be self employment. You will need to declare this to UC asap to prevent further issues and a possible civil penalty.
