CRU1 Forms and DWP/Benefits was created by Whistler_Lightspeed
I receive Universal Credit, New Style ESA and PIP.
Following an accident, the organisation involved has asked me to complete a CRU1 form and provide my National Insurance number and date of birth. They have advised that this is required under the Social Security Act and involves the Department for Work and Pensions.
My concern is whether completing this form could trigger any review, reassessment or investigation of my existing benefits, as I already receive UC, NS-ESA and PIP and do not want to inadvertently cause any issues with my current claims.
I would be grateful if you could explain what a CRU1 form is used for, what information is shared with the DWP, and whether completing the form could affect my existing benefits or lead to any review of my circumstances.
I would also like to understand whether the CRU process gives access to any of my medical records or benefit records, or whether it is limited to a specific purpose.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi
I'm afraid your question regarding accidents, compensation and the CRU are outside the remit of this Forum.
What I can say is that the existence of a CRU form would not trigger activity in the administration of Benefits by a HAAS company.
