PIP phone assessment was created by ez74
Hi I had my PIP phone assessment today
I found it hard to answer and get my words out. On reflection i understand what questions she was asking in relation to the PIP form. But she was trying to get yes/no answers from me. Even when i gave further details she said at the end, this is the specific question, yes or no. She also said I was being evasive, she had a really bad attitude and was passive aggressive with me. I assume these people have no training on reliability criteria? I didn't even manage to explain myself properly because of the way she was asking the questions so i am pretty sure she is going to give me 0. Has anyone had similar experiences, i am assuming yes, but i just wanted to vent frustration here

Hi ez74

I'm so sorry to hear this was your experience. I'm afraid your experience is not unique. Although there are some nice assessors, there are some who are thoroughly unpleasant and, in my view, unprofessional. And you're right, they do often ignore the reliability criteria - though they do have training on it. I'm not sure why the assessor was not allowing you to expand - that is just wrong.

On Thursday you can ring the DWP and ask for a copy of the assessment report - it's a PA4. That will give you an indication of whether or not you are going to get an award. If it's as bad as you think then you may need it to write a Mandatory Reconsideration. (I hope you get a better outcome than you fear).
