PIP extension and problems accessing GovOne was created by Mason
This isn't so much a new topic but part of the discussion about checking PIP extension on the GovOne account. I have received an extension letter (extended from March 2027 to March 2029) which is a relief but I want to make sure I have proof that I'm still in receipt - for example with road tax etc. Usually it is the statement of entitlement that seems to be needed but they don't put that with the extension letter (well not with mine anyway). I have tried to verify my i.d every which way, ended up phoning their helpline and it appears that the problem is that I don't have an email address or online PIP account because I didn't apply for PIP online - my first application was paper based. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and whether it is worth spending time on the phone to the PIP helpline to tell them my email address. OK - not just the time - it always feels stressful contacting them anyway!!

Hi Mason
It is very easy to get an email address. If you have a mobile phone then you're half way there.

Hi David - I have double posted the question - I thought I had deleted the first one! Thanks for this, sorry I wasn't clear - I have an email address but PIP don't have it because I didn't apply online. Just wondering if the benefits of accessing my PIP info online is worth the stress of calling PIP

Hi Mason
You should not have to phone PIP to create the One Login account that Forum members are using to check their PIP awards.

Hi david. The issue has been verifying my identity. The app wouldn't work, so I couldn't use photo i.d. and a face scan. The security questions I answered to try a way without photo i.d. kept coming back with the message that they didn't have enough info to verify me. I called the helpline (GovOne) and she ended up saying to go to the Post Office (they have a system to check i.d.) but to do that I had to have a letter/email generated by them. She started walking me through the process and asked me to enter my email on the PIP online page- can't remember what it said when I did but basically a version of 'computer says no'. The woman on the GovOne helpline said as I don't have my email registered with PIP (I have had no reason to do this before now) I would have to call them. So I'm wondering if
1)anyone on the forum has had a similar experience and what they did
2) is it worth the hassle (i.e. what extra info is on the account) given I have the letter extending my award - should that be enough to evidence I am in receipt of PIP post 2027 (original end date)
Many thanks

Also - I have seen the thread you linked to but couldn't see anyone having the same issues as me. I can't even get as far as them telling me the service is unavailable!! : )
