We brought up our special needs granddaughter under a Residence Order, and obtained both daily living and mobility PIP awards for her. She currently lives in a care home situation so no longer receives the daily living component, although ongoing award paperwork retains her underlying entitlement to it (I remain her DWP appointee). She will shortly be having a two week with her birthday mother. Am I correct in thinking that the DWP will pay her daily living component for the days she is away from the care home?
Here is the information regarding PIP and being in hospital or a care home. www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-indep...spital-or-care-homes My understanding is that you need to be back home for a minimum of 28 days for the payments to be resumed. I am happy to take further advice on this from Forum members who have been in this situation.
