Uc claim review was created by Akat
Back in April my son received notice via journal of a uc review. When completing for him I had to update balance, this tgrn triggered a thank you for completing note BEFORE I was able to upload any documents at all. Now this afternoon he has received a text and journal entry telling him he has a claim review telephone appointment this Friday. He is panicking, fibromyalgia and anxiety, what can we expect? He has also sent a journal message saying he gives explicit consent for me to be with him on phone call as he will get flustered and just not cope. Is that OK?

Hi Akat

If you have a look at the guide Best Possible ESA and UC Claims: a guide to the work capability assessment.

benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/esa - You can find the information about the interview process and the sorts of questions your son will be asked., page 144 onwards. It is fine that you are on the call with him. The assessor should establish at the beginning of the call -how much they will allow you to speak. (It can vary). Make sure that you ask for the call to be recorded. Without scaring your son - make him aware they may ask a question he is not expecting. Tell him to repeat the question if he needs a moment to think.
