My partner, who has insulin dependent diabetes, had a home medical form ATHOS re DLA claim – Prior to the doctor arriving she had a ‘hypo’ i.e. low blood sugar episode and was wrapped up on the sofa recovering when he arrived – even though my wife is lying on the sofa wrapped up in two duvets while sweating profusely and was clearly confused when he introduced himself, this ‘doctor’ proceeded with the medical which went on for over an hour – He also asked a very worrying question which both my wife and I were shocked by, i.e. “ Dose the insulin help your diabetes” ? (Even our 8 year old knows that no insulin = death). Should he have given my wife the opportunity to postpone the medical at the outset?, and if so how do we complain .. Thanks
