ib medical board

hi there,i am trying to help a friend who is very affraid that he will be put of IB,HE HAS BEEN ON ib for 16yrs but has not had to go for a medical for over eight yrs,he has 55%IIB as well with 8percent for life for oesteoathritis of the knee and 10 percent for life with industrial asthma and he athritis in his spine,i think he should be ok but i cannot convince him can anyone help,he is very depressed with all of this and i am worried for him.
