Xmas Bonus Queries !

Well I am confused now, today had an extra £10.00 added to my normal ESA payment which I assume is a Xmas bonus payment I have had no letter about this yet.

As stated before I have already had an extra £10.00 separate payment from dla marked on bank account as dla and not XB, so it looks like I now have had two Xmas bonuses. In previous years I always had my Xmas bonus either added onto ESA/IB or as a separate £10.00 payment never with dla.

As bro58 has stated you are only allowed one Xmas bonus and it looks like I now have had two!! I shall go on a shopping spree now!!!!

Do I let dla or ESA know about this or leave it to them to sort out when they realise their error?

As it looks like you have received 2 Xmas Bonuses, I would drop a line to DLA or ESA informing them of this !

Just thought I’d share with you the recorded info being given on the DWP phone line (0345 6088 545), with regard to Xmas Bonuses.

“If you are ringing regarding Christmas Bonuses, they are being paid into band accounts and
Should be with you by 14th - 21st JANUARY 2016 AT THE LATEST”.

So perhaps for some, like me, it would seem reasonable to assume that it’s possible that it may be a New Year’s Bonus, rather than a Christmas Bonus!

Thanks to the B&W Mod’s & Co that have given me the confidence now to phone the DWP in the knowledge that it WON’T generate a reassessment, I’m able to have a little courage to phone them now. Just as well, because I needed backdated information for the use of another body in the form of letters!!!!!!!!!

In fact, the chap I spoke with this morning was so caring and considerate and noting my angst with regard to the reason for my call, he even made some other suggestions that will help me with the other people requesting the information.

I confess to finding myself wishing that, if only the people we have to meet on a f2f basis were as nice as him, it would be half the battle!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of empathy to those who like me finds the Festive Season a bind! Take care.

For any members that are expecting a £10 Xmas Bonus due to the fact that they are in receipt of CB ESA, but have not yet received it, there is an automated message on The ESA Helpline :

THE ESA PHONE NUMBER DWP : 0345 608 8545

The message states that Xmas Bonuses will not be paid into ESA claimant's Bank Accounts until January 2016, between the 14th and the 21st of Jan !!!

Good old DWP, they can't even get things right at Xmas now !!!!!!

I know it is "The Season of Goodwill" but as my Auntie's 2nd Cousin once removed used to say,

"May the fleas from a 1000 camels infest their armpits" !!!!!

Members affected by this may want to complain to their MP's, why should they get away with it "Scott Free" ?
