What actually counts as an aid?

Will I receive confirmation via post that it has been received?
I am a bit worried about that as I am in the process of moving home.Things got a little delayed so it could be any time in the next week or so.
I am having my mail redirected once I get an exact date but it can take up to 5 days before it kicks in.
Once I eventually get to the appeal, and hopefully win,how far is it backdated?
Thank you once more for all the help here
Hi km,
Yes, you should receive confirmation from The TS that they have received and accepted your appeal.
You should also be able to print off confirmation that your appeal has been delivered : Here within a day or so of posting !
Once you have moved, you should inform The TS about your new address ASAP, once you have their contact details and The DWP, both in writing.
Once the appeal is accepted, you should receive a "Bundle"/Evidence Pack which will include the documentation used by The DWP in coming to their decision and their reasons for coming to their decision, and all future correspondence regarding your appeal should go to The TS.
The TS will then copy DWP in on any evidence that you submit to them.
This is to ensure that all 3 parties in the appeal, you, The DWP and The TS all have access to the same evidence.
If you are successful at your appeal, any decision made by the TS will be backdated to the time of the original adverse decision that you have appealed,
So any monies owed as a result of this will also be paid from the date of the original adverse decision appealed !!

I have received a letter saying my appeal has been accepted and telling me where i would need to send any further correspondence.
So now it is up to DWP to state their side? Then I will get a copy of this?
Do I have to respond?
My wishful thinking question is this. Do the DWP ever look at claimants appeal and decide it`s not worth fighting?
Just as I was feeling a little relief having sent off the appeal I have nw received the dreaded ESA form

Thanks for any response

Yes! The DWP will prepare a file with all of the documents used in the making of the Decision and covering letters to explain the relevant legislation and a précis of their reasons for the Decision they made.
You will then have your own opportunity to submit evidence and further explanations of your problems, this can be done up to about 10 days before the hearing.
There is no specific requirement for you to provide additional information but it may disadvantage you if you do not.
The DWP can revise the Decision in your favour, this does not necessarily mean that you will receive the award you think you deserve, but this is unlikely to happen until a couple of days before the hearing. It's very unlikely that this will happen if you don't provide additional information.

Is it their aim to make you feel like a lying scrounger? That is how I feel now

It is like I never sent proof or any of the pages stating where i think they made the wrong descriptor. They couldn`t even get the names of my conditions correct.
Do I need to do anything in response to this bundle? Or just wait for an appeal date?
I have no further evidence at this stage to send.
