ExCollier wrote: And that takes us nicely back to my first post,I am incontinent and on Vesicare,this on the assessment form is 15 points. I have to say my last 18 months at work after 46 yrs I had above 8-9 months off work.anyway here's hoping. Thanks
Hi EC,
Just to clarify scoring 15 points for incontinence under :
(Activity) "9. Absence or loss of control whilst conscious leading to extensive evacuation of the bowel and/or bladder, other than enuresis (bed-wetting), despite the wearing or use of any aids or adaptations which are normally or could reasonably be worn or used."
(Descriptor) 9(a) At least once a month experiences:
(i) loss of control leading to extensive evacuation of the bowel and/or voiding of the bladder;
or
(ii) substantial leakage of the contents of a collecting device,
sufficient to require cleaning and a change in clothing."
[ N.B. being "sufficient to require cleaning and a change in clothing." applies for Descriptor 9(a) (i) AND (ii) ]
Of The WRAG Activities/Descriptors, would only place you into The WRAG !
To gain access to The SG for incontinence, you would have to fulfil :
(Activity) "8. Absence or loss of control whilst conscious leading to extensive evacuation of the bowel and/or voiding of the bladder, other than enuresis (bed-wetting), despite the wearing or use of any aids or adaptations which are normally or could reasonably be worn or used."
(Descriptor) 8. At least once a week experiences:
(a) loss of control leading to extensive evacuation of the bowel and/or voiding of the bladder;
or
(b) substantial leakage of the contents of a collecting device sufficient to require the individual to clean themselves and change clothing."
Of The SG Activities/Descriptors.

ExCollier wrote: At the time I applied for ESA I also applied for PIP as you can see I have had my esa assessment but have heard nothing from the pip claim, is there a connection ?
Hi EC,
No I do not think that there is any connection !!
ESA and PIP are assessed by different Assessment Providers and different DWP Departments.
We have noticed a slowing down in The PIP Assessment Process since the New Year !!
If you are going to make any queries regarding PIP, please start a separate topic !!
