Hi, I had a home visit by ATOS last month.
The HCP was kind, polite and very thorough.
She arrived a few minutes early, but that was fine.
She explained who she was, that she had read my completed form and ancillary paperwork.
She said she did not understand why she needed to do an assessment, but that she would do so.
It took quite some time and yes I was tired by the time she had completed her report, mainly going over the questions on the form and re typing on her laptop. There were a few movements to undertake and a few questions on maths, and remembering 3 words to replay back.
At the end she indicated a good outcome would be forthcoming.
Thru out the whole time both my husband and I answered the questions calmly and politely, just as polite and as calm as she was.
My DM paperwork result arrived last Saturday with Enhanced care, mobility for an Indefinite timespan.
We were not flustered, was not badgered or anything, the process was fine. Respect from both herself and from us in regards to the assessment.

Well the 'ATOS ' assessment is over . Thought it was awful and didn't go well at all . I had reduced pain killers since last night so I would be coherent and even thought I told her that she kept saying ' oh you mix fine with other people I'm a stranger and you can talk to me' or well your joints move ok so I can see that's ok so the pain is the problem then ... '
I have a stool to sit on in the shower whilst my daughter or husband wash me and she seemed to twist everything too eg ' so once you're in the shower you can wash yourself below the waist ok then ' . It was worst than a court appearance . She then said she thought my drugs needed changing for better pain relief as I had been on some of them too long .
And what aid can you use for getting trousers on because I need one of those too apparently ...
I have a spinal cyst that has eroded bone so have to recline to reduce pressure , her answer to this was a gel seat and even though I explained that just being upright was the issue she wouldn't let it go .
As I sat there I could just see the points dropping away

Should I wait for the decision before asking for a copy of the report ?
