Replied by Sarah on topic Pip Assesment with Capita
So I recieved a letter from capita telling me my face to face is tomorrow ( Wednesday ) not much notice by the way!
So for the last few days I've been stressed out to the max trying to get myself ready my ex offered to take me having to take time off work to do so and today I rang capita to ask a question and I was told that CAPITA HAVE CANCELLED IT! The women ( sue ) said I would have got a call before 8 pm tonight to tell me it was cancelled but as I rang she told me then. She told me to ring back Friday to see when they'll be able to see me I took the oppertunity to ask why after two letters from health professionals and a detailed 3 page letter from myself explaining I needed a home visit this was not taken into consideration but again all I got was ring back Friday and they will see what they can do...I don't hold out much hope.
However now this appointment isn't going ahead I don't know what I'll do if they make me attend a face to face because my ex is starting a new job and won't be able to take the time off! I'm so frustrated. Do you think I should take capitas word that the fact they cancelled won't go against me as 1 of my appointments or should I ring dwp and inform them capita cancelled? In one way I want to make it clear this had nothing to do with me and on the other hand I just want to stay under the radar as long as possible. The capita CENTRE is CARDIFF has anyone else had this from the Cardiff centre?

Unless your HP letters specifically state that you cannot attend at Capita's offices and why then this may not be enough for Capita to accept the need for a Home Assessment, if this is the case then you need to speak to your GP to see if they will support you writing such a letter, as Capita are have already booked an appointment at their offices, you have gone past the point where they will write to your GP themselves.
As to the cancelled appointment, see the following

So my appointment with capita for 20th January was cancelled by them, I've yet to hear back from them about another appointment but today I received a letter from DLA saying my award for higher rate mobility and higher rate care has been awarded until 11/01/17 ?????????? Totally confused by this does that mean my pip application has been postponed? When your dealing with disability issues as well memory problems it's all quite confusing to me.

Yes, that is rather confusing Sarah! Maybe one of the other mods will have some ideas.

From one of your previous posts, your DLA claim was due for renewal in January, so my best guess is that it has been extended to allow a Decision to be made on your PIP claim.
The law does not allow a claimant to retain their DLA claim (in the long term), once an invitation to claim PIP has been issued, nor can the invitation be withdrawn, but the only way that you will know for certain is to contact the DWP.

So today I've received a letter from dwp regarding my pip application it's just 1page which reads........
We've now got the information and reports we need about your condition and how this affects you for your claim to personal independence payment.
We're sorry it's taken longer than expected to give you a decision on your claim but we'll contact you as soon as we've reached a decision.
As I've previously mentioned in other posts I had a appointment given to me from capita who then cancelled the appointment since then I've been waiting for the new appointment to come through but I haven't had anything, now I recieve this letter so I'm guessing they've done a paper based Assesment.
If I don't agree with the decision is it easier appealing because capita had no contact with me?
Has anyone else had this and if so what were your outcomes on a paper based review for pip?
