The start of my ESA to PIP claim. was created by karlgixer
Afternoon all.
Just got the long awaited DLA to PIP letter this morning (21st March) saying i have until the 13th of April to contact them to say i wish or not to claim pip. It took 1 week from date of the letter to land at my address. So that’s 1 week less that i should have.
And i will be claiming of course.
Any questions and updates i have or i get will be posted in this post.
My first question is, When i phone to say i Do wish to claim PIP what will i be asked over the phone first off?
As the link in the PIP guide that says, you can download a copy of the PIP1 form from the DWP website (link does not show a copy of the pip1 form the like page says This page cannot be found )

Thank you for the link Gordon.
So when i first phone up to say i wish to claim for PIP to replace my DLA they will ask me all those questions on the pip1 form over the phone?

Yes, they will be completing an online version of the form while you are on the phone to them.

is there a form-fill version of the actual PIP claim submission form available?

There is on request but everyone who has done so has reported problems actually getting the form and your PIP Claim is not officially started until the DWP have the completed PIP1 form so that they can build your PIP computer record.
So, it is not something I can recommend unless there is no way that you or someone acting on your behalf can make the phone call.
