Hi, if you can, try and get an appointment with citizens Advice, they were very helpful with my PIP after failing to get a change after MR, after the CAB got involved I applied with their help for appeal, DWP changed their minds after about 3 weeks and award me the same points I had before the review, hope you get this sorted, it’s so stressful isn’t it.

Also, would like to say that Benefits and works guides have helped me a lot as well, I wrote my MR letter using the guides and would not let my subscription lapse. Thank you everyone and fingers crossed for the OP

Gordon - I am currently waiting for it come through in the post so if it doesn't I will be in touch with them.

Phrank - They don't mention the letters at all until the end of the medical report where they justify my award points for the descriptors where they them go against what is written in them unfortunately. I will certainly make sure to include the old previously submitted letters and the new ones and make sure I mention in the MR how they have disregarded the specialists knowledge.

Lindsay - Thank you, that's certainly good to hear and I'm so pleased to hear that you got your award in the end. I'll keep the CAB in mind after the MR. I've been using the guides too, they really are invaluable.

Just to be fully clear, when I submit my MR, its ok for me to include alongside new evidence, inaccuracies in the report, where information has been left out, and where the decision is wrong and back it up with the evidence? I know this needs to be done for appeal but what to check its ok at this stage?

With appeals taking at least a year over most of the country I would advise you to make every effort to overturn the Decision at the MR stage. Yes, you can include all of this information.

Ok wonderful, I'll make sure to include absolutely everything I can then. Someone had told me to withhold info for the appeal but I didn't feel that made sense.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thank you for your help. I've posted off the MR so its just a waiting game now and preparing for appeal for the eventuality of it not being overturned.

If this is successful at this stage (I understand that the percentage rate isn't great) when it comes to back dated payment, is it taken from the date the old award expired, the start date of the new claim or the date of the original decision?
