Hi there. I've received a PIP review form (1043) which seems to be asking for updates, rather than a complete application. The boxes are clearly insufficient for going into any detail.

I will of course be looking closely at the guides since my last visit which is some time ago (apologies if this query is covered there) but would I be correct in saying if I just left the fields blank (ie no change/improvement - for sake of argument - things are in fact worse) they would NOT default to the points previously awarded?

In other words, should I treat this effectively as a new application with all that entails, despite it being worded a "review"?

Some members have been successful in just marking the form with "no change" but this relies on the assessor reading all of the documents from your previous review, which they should but I don't think I would be alone in thinking that they don't. Conversely, answering in detail makes it more likely that you will have a face to face as the assessor will want to talk to you about what you have written.

On balance I would go with the latter even if it means that you have to provide additional pages to the form as it means that you retain control of what they should be looking at.

Awesome advice as always Gordon and much appreciated!

I fully grasp your point and wonder if you can tick off which of the following would you recommend including ?

Resubmit previous evidence?
New supporting evidence
Tribunal finding of previous PIP appeal (mentions finding based on weight of evidence)
ESA85 report (support group)
Support letters from support worker (and friends?)
Dr signed council form declaring permanent mental and social impairment

Can I also ask if reviews have a similar success rate to new applications?
Similar likelihood of assessment?
I would need to be seen at home if possible. Should I request this from DWP in my review form or wait for the response first?

Sorry for so many questions.

Yes, to all and in particular any Tribunal Decision as the assessor will have no documentation on this. If you include the ESA85 then you need to explain why it is relevant to the PIP activities.

I'm afraid we have not seen any statistics for reassessments.

Due to uselessness (caused by my aspergers) I've still failed to get my PIP forms done despite extensions... I still have till december to get it in.. I was hoping to supply enough extra evidence to get a DM to decide on paper but I just read Gordon that this is pretty rare??

Two questions -

1. I have a document that includes colour and doesn't make sense in B&W. What do you think DWP would do with it

2. Just can't deal with writing on the form, I want to answer the questions on computer then print on seperate pages can I do this for basically all the form questions (apart from name and address etc)... ?

I realise I need to put NHS and name and number each sheet... I was thinking of putting for section 2 where it asks about conditions "See added sheets" and then continue from there

Unfortunately form filling plays right into my disorder .. the whole process really... it's all making me rather ill
