PIP F2F report - not good please help... was created by Anna
Today I recieved a copy of the report from my face to face for PIP which I requested. Was worried about it but didn't think it could be this bad...scored 2 points in total. (Currently on high care and low mobility and if anything my health has deteriorated) Just feel totally humiliated, lost and don't know what on earth to do next. I know the likelihood is I'm going to have to appeal but I don't have the final report but going on this I am. Please can you advise me what I can do at this stage as I wait for the final report? Thank you in advance

Hi aejo2
I'm sorry that the report is worse than you were expecting. In anticipation of getting the decision letter which you are not expecting to go in your favour - you can go through the report in detail and see where you didn't score points and why not.
Your primary task if you have to go for a mandatory reconsideration is is to show that you meet the criteria. There are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;
"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"
than their opinions
"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.
When you have a better idea of the issues with your claim, come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.

Thank you. I will start going through it to do this. I've had a look at the guide about appealing and I can't quite work out if it has to be done online or there is a paper version of the mandatory reconsideration? Either way, could you advise me, how do you fit the info regarding proving you meet the criteria (as advised in your last post). Is there a format or a set version of boxes for it? I hope this makes sense.
Some of what is written in the report is straight lies - ie. claiming she asked me to do something in the assessment which she didn't. Some of it is very inaccurate and appears as if there is no way they have read the statement from my psychiatrist and CPN (ie saying my GP diagnosed PTSD, which they didn't - a specialist psychiatrist a long time ago diagnosed C-PTSD, which is a different diagnosis.)
Also alongside ALL my medications is written "no side effects", when in my form I detailed side effects for the medications which do cause side effects.
Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to give some details of what I'm dealing with. I'm also concerned as I don't know any other evidence I can provide other than what I already have, which seems to have been disregarded.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi aej02
The mandatory reconsideration is just a letter and there isn't a specific template for this. So you do not have to fit any information into any boxes.
Do not fall into the trap of calling the assessor a liar (as tempting as it might be). You can say that the assessor was 'mistaken'.
Where the assessor has not looked at your evidence - you need to highlight it. "For example - you might say. "The assessor says in the report that I am able to prepare a simple meal and grip a variety of adapted utensils. However, in his letter dated 3rd Dec 2018 Dr X - consultant Rheumatologist - notes that my fingers have limited use because of severe rheumatoid arthritis which is going to continue to deteriorate." As stated in my report - I do not cook any meals because of the pain and my tendency to drop things which make me unsafe."
Obviously the above is only an example (which I entirely made up) but I hope you understand what I mean. You do this for every point that you have already provided the evidence for, including the no-side effects of the medicine.
Hope that helps

Hi aej02
As BIS has said below you can either send in a letter requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration or you can complete a form called CRMR1 01/18. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governm...sion-made-by-dwp.PDF
I usually use this form when requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) and send it by recorded delivery, don't forget to keep a copy of your MR.

Thank you. A quick question about the preparing food. What is considered as a simple meal? I will only do cereal or toast and that is with support and prompting. Does that count as a 'simple meal' as I had assumed that would be something cooked?
