PIP does not specifically address issues such as self-harm whereas DLA did so you need to relate it back to the PIP activities, so a couple of examples;
- a claimant might find the complexity of preparing and cooking a meal to daunting coupled with the access to knives this might lead to them self harming.
- in a similar vein, the pressure to go out might be so overwhelming that a claimant might self harm if faced with the prospect.

Thank you. In putting together my mandatory reconsideration appeal thing I'm up to managing therapy and monitoring health conditions. In my PIP2 and the evidence included there is evidence about the follows. I was wondering if you could give me your opinion which points I should try and appeal for (I'm aware it will only be advise)
From Psychiatrist - multiple psychotrophic medications, psycholigcal therapies and ECT tried with limited response due to long term nature of conditions etc (paraphrased to shorten) Prescribed weekly meds due to risk of overdose, closely monitored by the recovery team etc
From my PIP2 - details about my use of dossettes to reduce risk of overdose so not handling full boxes of meds multiple times a day; due to fibro fog have trouble remembering to take them so partner has to remind me but still sometimes forget, severity of depression also affects memory
Are you able to give me any advise given this info please?

The issues you raise are all to do with your medication so the most you can score for this activity is one point, unless you have already scored being unable to get in or out of a standard bath or shower, which scores three points, then the one point cannot result in an increased award, so you should only spend time on this activity if you also have the three points.

There are only two Descriptors that score with an odd amount of points; Managing Medication (one point) and Getting in and out of a Standard bath or Shower (three points).
So if you have six points, then you can never receive an award through Managing Medication as you will will only score seven points.
However, If you scored seven points with three coming from bathing or showering then the extra point for medication can give you the eight points that you need.

Thank you. A question about medication and treatment. The HP detailed no treatment in this section and no side effects from medication though both were detailed on my PIP2. I am pointing this out but as additional evidence I'm telling them that I needed GA surgery last week on a SH burn. I have had this multiple times before but I'm not sure whether it would work for me or against me to include the fact that the stress of the F2F and everything involved greatly increased my risk factors for this? I hope this makes sense
