Hi aej02

Preparing a simple meal means doing all the things you would need to do with fresh ingredients from scratch. So, peeling, chopping, washing, using pots and pans.

This is not heating a ready meal in a microwave.

The requirement is to be able to complete each activity "reliably". This includes being able to do it repeatedly. Arguably one only needs to cook from fresh ingredients once each day but this may not always be the case.

Thank you. Sorry, another question. There are points she has written in the face to face report which are basically lies, though I know you have said you can't call it this as such.
An example (using this example as straight forward and not too personal if that makes sense) - she asked "do you like reading?" and my response was "I cannot read as I do not have the concentration. I'll try read a page and then not know what I've read"
In the report she has written "she likes to read books and she lacks concentration when reading"
Though not a massively significant example, I'm just meaning she has written things that I didn't say and not written things that I did.
Could I have some advise as to how to tackle this in my mandatory appeal please?

Also there where points when my social worker interjected to help me, but largely speaking, her comments have not been included in the report at all.
Sorry for all the questions and thank you so much again for your support and advise

You need to tackle the issues that have prevented you from scoring points so using your example of reading, have they used this as a reason not to score you for the reading activity?

But even then you need to pay attention to the wording of the Descriptors, so again using your example; your not reading a book or a magazine does not imply that you are unable to complete the Reading activity which has a very strict requirement.

Don't be afraid to tackle the assessor's comments but try and avoid confronting them, so you might say that the assessor clearly misunderstood your comment about reading, what I said was "x" and as a result, I am unable to complete the activity.

Sorry just to clarify when you refer to the descriptors, do you mean the wording on the sheet where they tick a box? Or a different source of descriptor please

By Descriptors, I mean the legally defined criteria that you were assessed against which are list in our PIP Claim guide.

Sorry another question. Where best in the form would you think that self harm would fit. I've struggled with this to the extent of needing surgery and I feel it is relevant I'm just not sure under which point if that makes sense. Issues with suicide attempts also. I hope this is ok to ask. Thank you in advance
