DLA appeal was created by Leah x X x X
I am completely stressed out that i'm to attend on Friday the appeal for not being awarded any DLA when i applied. My health has gone severly downhill since the initial application and as i understand it they will not take anything into account since the initial application i feel like 'what's the point in going'? Then again i suppose i have to....why is it so long winded? Is it true that they will not acknowledge any further medical issues that has worsened since i originally applied?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The Tribunal are, in effect, re-making the original decision that you are appealing. Therefore they can only consider your condition as it was at that time. If your condition has worstened since then, you should notify DWP whatever the outcome of your appeal.

So basically i'm going to this appeal only to hear from them that their decision still stands?

Why would you assume that? A significant proportion of people have the decision overturned on appeal.

I just don't have much faith in the system anymore to be honest, it's designed so people just give up

They will will consider your evidence, but it is said that most Tribunal panels make their decision based on what the claimant says on the day.

Whilst the tribunal re-makes the original Decision that most certainly does not mean that they are repeating it.So basically i'm going to this appeal only to hear from them that their decision still stands?
