DLA Change Of Circumstance was created by Jay_P
Hi all
Not long since had surgery which may improve my mobility(will have better idea in a few months)which would result in change of circumstances again which would mean possibly closing my DLA claim....What I,m trying to determine is,if my mobility had improved that much that I closed my claim and then a month or two down the line my mobility began to deteriorate would I have to start a fresh claim processes as basically a new claimant or is there a buffeting type period for instances like mine fir reclaiming?

Reporting a Change will result in an invitation to claim PIP, so if your improvement is not what you expected and no award of PIP was made then you would have to make a new claim for PIP and as there had been no Mobility award you could not link the claim back to your DLA award.

Changes of Circumstances should always be communicated in writing, even though the DWP record phone calls, it requires you to have noted the date and time that the call was made and you still run the risk of the call centre staff failing to log the call properly.
