PIP Appeal - Payments

Good afternoon. Have received notification from DLA that the decision to lower mobility part of the Mandatory appeal from Higher remains. This means I lose my Motability car which has been a blessing and a life line. However, I have been advised by a third party (not DLA - too scared to call,) that if I appeal, whilst the appeal is in limbo waiting for the Tribunal, I will lose the payments they have agreed to pay. Are you aware if this is correct? Would really appreciate feedback on this as I have only a couple of weeks in which to register appeal.
