ESA was created by mmurph64
Does anyone have experience of filling in and submitting an application for ESA on behalf of someone with autism? I have a 32 year old son with an autistic spectrum disorder who is proving very reluctant to apply for ESA. I have been trying to get him to apply for 3 years.
Any comments ,experiences or advice would be welcome.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
Are you your son's appointee?
If not then the decision to claim has to be your son's, you cannot make a claim for ESA without their explicit permission and cooperation.
Why is he reluctant to make a claim?
