ESA Renewal Assessment was created by Susan Smith
Hi, Please could you tell me what is happening with the ESA reassessments now, I am in the support group contribution based, and was due to be reassessed two years ago but, was told that it would be Feb 2018 before I am recalled,
I have have transferred over from DLA and now on PIP since before xmas and was awarded enhanced on both parts
Is there a backlog again for ESA reassessments, as I was expecting to have received the brown envelope by now.
I know the two benefits are separate things but was wondering if the PIP outcome could have possibly made any difference to the ESA and that’s why I haven’t heard anything yet.
Thank you for you help.

There are still considerable delays in the ESA assessment process but it's nor clear how this is effecting the DWP initiating an assessment process.

I'm afraid that the only way to know for certain is for you to contact the DWP office dealing with your claim.

I was in the same position as you Sue , very similar . I spoke to the dwp two weeks ago when I got th me anual updating letter . I was told my claim wasn’t due to be reassessed until September ( original it should have been September 17 but was extended ) . On Monday I didn’t receive my usual payment , I rang up and was told there had been an error on the system and they had to manually put my claim back into the system . They issued a same day payment on Monday for me . Low and behold I got the post today with an esa50 ... so much for September ! Currently in the process of filling it in whilst recovering from surgery :(
