PIP assessment report advise please! was created by Lol57
Can anyone help with my question please?
Today I received the dreaded brown envelope with the PIP decision. The decision is wrong on so many points, that I have no option but to ask for a reconsideration, then appeal if the decision is not changed.
The question is – how do I get a copy of the so-called ‘Health Professional’s’ report to use in my letter to ask for the reconsideration?
Do I phone the DWP and request it?
or do I have to wait until I have to appeal before the DWP will send it?
Based on the stupid questions that the HP asked at the ‘assessment, and the appalling way that the assessment was carried out, leaves me to believe that the report was so bad, that hopefully I will be able to have it considered unreliable.
I would really prefer to apply for the reconsideration by letter, and point out all the errors in the report, otherwise, the next decision maker is just going to make the same mistakes as the last one.
Thanks

you can request the assessment report by phoning the DWP office that deals with your claim, I would follow it up with a written request, the number will be on the Decision Letter that you have just received.

Thank you
i wasn't sure if I could or not. I was bothered that even if I could, it would take the DWP too long to send it, and I wouldn't have time to write my letter in time for the reconsideration.

I can't guarantee delivery and you should not wait for the report if it will make your request for an MR late.
