ESA Reinstatement DWP asking G.P to Stop Fit Notes was created by teej09
This subject I think could very well be similar to many others, however I would like to know if this matter is unlawful on false information provided nynthe DWP.
Following the reinstatement on the same day that my benefit was reinstatement the DWP informed my doctor that an assessment had been carried of a couple of days that ESA has stopped. It is in fact ongoing and on the date (30 January 2018) ESA was reinstated, a false claim of an assessment never carried out saying it has been stopped, but it is still ongoing.
Any advice would be useful you can only imagine the frustration and anger.
Thanks in advance

I'm afraid it's impossible to comment without an understanding of your claim and why the DWP Decided to close it?
What are you hoping to do with the information?

Hello Gordon
I haven’t explained myself properly. Let me elaborate.
I was stopped ESA in August 2017 having been in the Support Group and in the DWP’s opinion I was found fit for work. have varying health problems with mobility issues Fibromyalgia + other medical conditions, including a diagnosis of hearing loss more recently. Following a tribunal setting a date for a hearing I reinstated my claim in January. My reinstated was accepted from the 30 January and transitioned from JSA to ESA pending a tribunal date.
On 8 February the DWP wrote to me saying that no more ‘fit for work’ certificates were necessary and the same time on the same time wrote to my G.P. falsely making the claim that on the premise of an assessment - never carried out on 6 February - I was declared as fit to work and all fit for work notes should stop and I should be encouraged to seek work!
This letter has only been discovered by accident as I requested my medical file from my G.P. (Subject Access Request).
I believe that my case is being undermined in hope that my G.P supports them in its endeavour to stop me receiving benefit and in its forthcoming tribunal date, which I am still awaiting a date.
Thanks again - I hope it’s a little clearer.
I believe there is a something very deceptive about what is going on here.

This is a standard letter sent by the DWP to the claimants GP, however, it should not have been sent given your circumstances but it is not an attempt to de-rail your appeal, just an error.
