Re claim ESA was created by yak1
I received esa contribution based, wrag group for a year,(migrated from IB) then nothing because my incme was over the threshold. This was2014. I was awarded PIP enhanced mob &care 2017 for 10yrs. My income has declined so I’ve been advised to reclaim esa. Is it true that I qualify for support group?
Many thanks, Yak1

You can't make a new claim for ESA unless you have worked in the interim, however, if you have maintained your Limited Capability for Work then technically you remain eligible for ESA and can report a Change of Circumstances. If this results in an SG award then your ESA(CB) will be reinstated.

Given the break you may be asked to complete an ESA1, if you are then mark it "not a new claim - reinstatement of existing claim".

Also, if told you need to make a claim for New ESA then tell the advisor that this is incorrect as you have an existing claim not in payment.
