Mandatory was created by Mila
Having agreed a fourteen day extension to my mandatory reconsideration deadline (on the telephone). I have recieved in the post today My mandatory reconsideration Notice and papers to initiate an appeal. I have not submitted anything to DWP in regards to the reconsideration, and do not now know what to do - as I was working towards an 8th of March deadline

Do you know whether I would be at a disadvantage if I just proceeded to the appeal stage without having submitted anything in regards to the reconsideration? Or should I be contacting DWP to say they carried this out prematurely having agreed to extend the deadline, and then not honouring it. I did just happen to read yesterday, having subscribed to benefits and work, that anything agreed with DWP on the telephone needs to be backed up with written confiramation.

thanks,

Clare

The Decision boils down to whether you think that you have a reasonable chance of overturning the Decision by asking for a second MR, especially given the low revision rate at this stage of the process.?

If you do then it's worth asking, but if not then there is no penalty to you of going on to appeal.
