ESA IR or CB was created by Anna
I have been receiving CB ESA Support Group for a few years. When my savings dropped to below £6,000 I asked to be switched to IR ESA to receive the disability premiums SDP and EDP.
My letters say I receive IR ESA of £*** yet I still receive a summary letter from Jobcentre Plus(?) at the end of each financial year showing my taxable benefits. (I am still registered self-employed but not working).
I thought EDP and SDP was only available with non taxable IR ESA yet I think I still receive CB ESA taxable benefits. I am confused and have a few questions.
Am I receiving CB ESA or IR ESA or both?
Am I entitled to free prescriptions?
At some point this year I will receive part of an inheritance. Do I need to inform DWP?
Will ESA and/or the SDP and EDP be stopped?

ESA(CB) is always paid if the claimants qualified so you are receiving ESA(CB) with an ESA(IR) top-up.
You refer to the £6000 limit, just so you are aware, the upper limit for ESA(IR) is £16,0000 so you may be able to get some backdating of the Premiums if you can show that you qualified although there would be a deduction.
